ANNUAL REPORT-2022-23

Real Education fetches you more than a job. It teaches you to live. It cannot be measured in any tangible way”.

It is an enduring tradition to take time to pause, turn around to look at the fruitful year gone by, achieving both the expected and the unexpected, while setting various milestones and then synergizing ourselves to move ahead to face the challenges in the coming year, with a positive attitude. We thank the Almighty God for all the blessings bestowed upon us year after year, especially during the academic year 2021-22. CFDAV has been stepping from success to success all through the years since its humble beginning and the past year has been no exception. We have done excellently in academics and non-academic areas. At this juncture, I wish to put on record my sincere gratitude to the management, staff, students and the parents for your kind support and guidance. With great pleasure, I present in a nutshell the highlights of this academic year:

1. Session opening: To quote the words of Plato, “The beginning is the most important part of the work.” The new session 2022-23 commenced on 9 April for the students with a Hawan and were welcomed by their alma matar. On this pious occasion, our chairperson Shri U.R. Singh Sir and the dignitaries from CFCL blessed the young learners with a shower of rose petals.

2. Academic Excellence: “Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution”. The system of education in CFDAV as you all know, is a blend of theory and practice in the right proportion to arrive at a comprehensive curriculum. Our students have shown an excellent performance and secured centum results in CBSE X board exams 2021-22. Priyansh Agrawal secured 97.80 % and 9 students secured above 90% and ten students scored between 80 to 90%. Our school achieved 100% result.

3. Investiture Ceremony: “If you want to change the group, use the group to change the group”. CFDAVians get an opportunity to nurture and hone their leadership traits by taking active role in the school parliament. The school is divided into four houses led by Captains and Vice-Captains. In an impressive investiture ceremony, all the leaders of the school parliament were given oath of office by the Chairperson U.R Singh Sir and LMC members. As you must have noticed today, we have student volunteers who are lending support in the proper management of the function. My special thanks to them. CFDAV is really proud of them.

4. Co-curricular Activities and Celebrations: We not only focus upon the intellectual development of our future generation, but also take care of their emotional, cultural and behavioural well-being in their early ages of development by inculcating sound moral values, responsibility, self-reliance and social awareness. Regular co-curricular activities, competitions and school celebrations are conducted to bring out the innate talent of the students. This year 4 students of our school participated in the regional round of CBSE National Science Exhibition held at Udaipur. I would like to take this opportunity to announce that our school is taking part in School Enterprise Challenge, conducted globally by Teach a Man to Fish, an international organisation that supports young people to reach their full potential. In this, students run a venture wherein they learn the nuances of business and life skill. The photo booth installed outside the hall marks my students’ first step in this direction. I request you all to wholeheartedly support them. The proceeds will be used for social work.

5. Clubs: Our school offers various talent refining clubs as Literary club, Maths club, Science & Eco club, Arts and Crafts club, IT Club, Scouts and Guides Club, Sports Club, etc to develop and motivate the students to have more involvement in their specific interest area.

6. Special Assemblies: Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice-Anton Chekov Our specially designed theme based School Assemblies provide ample opportunities for all our students to come forth with confidence and express their abilities of public speaking, thought sharing, performing arts, etc. We ensure 100% participation so that no child is left behind.

7. Physical Education and Sports: A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body. The school has always been keen in taking initiatives to get the best in sports arena. Inter house sports competitions are organized at the school premises. Our students participate in various inter school events where they harness their sportsmanship. We feel proud to announce that seven boys and three girls of our school have been selected for DAV National Level Tournament.

8. Community Outreach Programme: Howard Zinn has rightly pointed that “Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.” Our Community Outreach programme in action helps our students to garner awareness on addressing social problems around them, thus helping them to be useful and sensitive to the community.

9. Remedial Teaching/Academic Betterment: The purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. In this long run, we don’t want any child to stagger behind, hence we have academic betterment classes to handhold the ones in need so that they can be at par with the rest of the class.

10.Teachers’ Enhancement Programs: “It’s the teacher that makes the change, not the mere classroom”. We believe in equipping teachers to prepare the students for the future and to update their knowledge in sync with the new changes and times. Our educators participated in various capacity building programs in hybrid mode directed by DAVCMC. With immense pleasure and pride, we wish to mention that 6 educators, Shilpi Sharma, Sunita Sanadya, Anita Singh, Arun Rawat, Rashmi Gautam and Meena Kanwar have been appointed as Master Trainers by DAVCAE this session, taking our school’s toll to 10 Master Trainers.

11.Workshops: Our school organises various workshops and sessions to provide new learning and guidance to students. As you are aware, our school has joined hands with Fortis healthcare, Noida to provide guidance on behavioural and mental health to our young and impressive minds. We organised Advanced Metaverse 360 VR Experiential Learning sessions for our senior ones. The session for junior classes with be held in due course.

12.Parent-Teacher Association: We have a strong support of our parents which we cherish. Days were set apart for parent teacher interaction in which parents are called class wise to meet the teachers.

“What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to a human being”

- J. Anderson.

Education is the ability to meet life’s situations. We at CFDAV, earnestly believe in this kind of holistic education and strive to fulfil this through our talented and inquisitive learners. We thank all our stakeholders for your support and cooperation. The strenuous effort of the teachers has been bountifully blessed and we are thankful to them for the same.
